Elder and Sister Woffinden

They're Off!

Today's the big day. Mom and Dad should be checking in at the MTC as I type. They get a week of training, stay with us Friday night, and then be off for some great experiences in the Washington D.C. North mission.

Oh! How wonderful! You'll probably miss them more than ever, but what a great example and blessing for your family.

I'm happy for you all with such great examples leading the family in missionary service. What great timing for your kids to see their grandparents heading off to serve the Lord. (I hope it will go by quickly for you, though). I can't remember what their specific assignment is in DC, but if it's near the temple we'll keep an eye out for them!

How fun for your parents and for you! I remember when my parents told us they were leaving on a mission I felt like an orhpan. I was happy for them but also a terribly sad they would be gone. Yet their mission blessed our lives in so many wonderful ways. Thanks also for your post on things you are grateful for. I loved what you wrote about going to the temple with your daughter. What a great daughter you have. You must be a wonderful mother.

That's so exciting. I remember when my parents were on their mission, I know my parents truly cherished their mission and it was such a great example to all their grandchildren. It's also amazing how fast their mission went. Maybe you'll get a chance to go visit them out there, I hear D.C. is nice in the summer :-)
