Today's the day. Erica's up, dressed, out the door, and leaving on a jet plane in an hour. She meets up with 81 other students and they'll arrive in Jerusalem tomorrow morning our time. Can't wait to hear about all the adventures over the next 31/2 months!
Mazel Tov!
(After taking my parents to the airport for Australia and Erica for Jerusalem, I'm feeling like heading somewhere exotic myself. Somehow grocery shopping tomorrow is just not cutting it for me! Oh, wait, I get to drive to school again this afternoon. That should do it... or not!)

You may be excited, but are you crying inside because your baby girl is so far away without you??
You know, I was for about the time it took for me to leave the airport, then the excitement for her returned. This is one of those situations where I have no doubt she's heading off to do something she's supposed to be doing. All the doubts and worries evaporated several months ago. It reminds me of King Mosiah being told his sons would be kept safe when they went to teach the Lamanites. I'm not saying that she's off to convert the nation of Israel, but for whatever reason she's supposed to be there and I feel nothing but peace. It's a very strange and very cool experience at the same time.
I think if I could spend even a month any place on the planet, Israel would have to be that place. Very happy for Erica.
